Carolien studied tax law at the University of Amsterdam and has been a certified Financial Planner since 2003.
While she was studying law and after graduating Carolien worked at the Dutch Tax authorities for a total of 14 years, where she handled tax assessments and was an author and teacher. She obtained a great deal of litigation experience as a tax inspector. She was also involved in numerous Dutch target-group policy projects.
Carolien has worked as a tax advisor since 2001. She worked in the advice and return practice group at Mazars Paardekooper Hoffman N.V. for eight and a half years. Carolien specialises in income tax, CIT and formal tax law.
